Broker's Comments
Boatshed Essex are pleased to be presenting this unique and attractive cruising Dutch barge, which is rich in history, style and comfort, perfect for cruising and as a liveaboard. The owners have invested significant time and finance into this spacious barge, which offers as a well presented vessel and which has been recently painted and surveyed.
The outside deck space has plenty of lockers and is set up for cruising, with a crane for lifting, a powerful engine and bow thruster allowing for ease of boat handling, despite its length.
Moving inside to the inviting wheelhouse towards the stern, which has large collapsible windows giving plenty of light and panoramic views for the helm when cruising and manoeuvring, and with comfortable seating for relaxing.
The private self-contained and character-filled captain's quarters is accessed from the wheelhouse and provides a traditional and historical feel to this barge, with a large saloon, separate galley, double bedroom and heads, with shower.
The main living area, which is accessed separately and forward, has a fabulous open plan galley and saloon and has been modernised using reclaimed materials and has no expense spared, including hardwood mahogany floors and bespoke stained glass windows to the interior doors.
The contemporary, thoughtfully designed well equipped galley, with a kitchen island and breakfast bar, has a large Rangemaster cooker, stand-alone fridge freezer and beautiful hardwood worktops.
The reclaimed radiators provide heat from the oil fired central heating system, the multi fuel stove and 10” of insulation keep the interior warm. With a large TV and modern surround system in the saloon provides that modern twist.
Hatches throughout the barge allow plenty of natural light into the living areas.
Moving forward, the sophisticated bathroom has been tastefully designed using bespoke tiling and separate walk in shower. Forward there are two further cabins. The smaller, modern cabin is currently used as a single guest cabin which could be converted to a study. The large charming master suite has been tasteful designed with a walk in wardrobe and plenty of light from the hatches and space for personalisation.
The main engine room is accessed from the main companionway and contains the powerful 200hp Daf engine providing plenty of power for cruising and manoeuvring the boat.
The generator provides electric when needed and is housed in a separate engine room along with the bow thruster engine.
This fabulous barge would make a comfortable cruising platform, home or business opportunity and if you would like to know any more or organise a personal viewing please contact our office and we would be delighted to hear from you.
There is also a residential mooring available with this barge.
