Broker's Comments
The 29 was one of the smaller Moodys of the era, but it feels much bigger than its designation suggests, both above and below decks. Outside, there is a big, well thought-out cockpit. Typical Moody quality and practicality: there is a locker under the sole, big enough to swallow an inflatable dinghy or big fenders. A further hatch in the locker gives great access to the gearbox and aft section of the engine. The engine was replaced in 1994 with a larger 24HP model. There is more clever thinking up front: a deep well in the deck at the stem-head makes working on the foredeck a safer experience. Bright ideas abound below decks as well. Notable among these is the saloon table: a beautiful timber edifice that folds against the main bulkhead when underway. When required, it hinges down and unfolds to provide a huge dining table, revealing excellent safe bulwark shelf storage. A neat idea, executed by craftsmen. This particular vessel is in good condition. Externally, the finish is clean, tidy and sound. This is a splendid quality cruiser of its time, with timeless virtues.
